Here is how to add our e-mail address (or any other for that matter) to your whitelist or accepted address list so we don't end up in your spam folder.
For AOL version 9.0:
- Open your latest Nashville IFMA e-mail.
- Click the ADD ADDRESS button on the right-hand side to add the info@ifmanashville.org to your "People I Know" list.
or:
- Click the "SPAM CONTROLS" link (lower right area of your inbox).
- When the "MAIL & SPAM CONTROLS" box appears, click "CUSTOM SENDER LIST".
- Choose "ALLOW EMAIL FROM" option.
- Add info@ifmanashville.org
- Click "ADD", then "SAVE".
For AOL version 7 and 8:
- Go to Keyword Mail Controls.
- Select the screen name you are using to receive email.
- Click "Customize Mail Controls For This Screen Name."
- *For AOL version 7.0: In the section for "exclusion and inclusion parameters", include the following domain: *@ifmanashville.org.
*For AOL version 8.0: Select "Allow email from all AOL members, email addresses and domains."
- Click on "NEXT" until the "SAVE" button shows up at the bottom.
- Click "SAVE."
- Click on Address Book (it's over on the left, below your Folders).
- When your Address Book opens, click the Add button.
- On the Add Contact screen, find the Internet Information box.
- Enter: email info@ifmanashville.org into the top e-mail box
- Click save.
- Click Contacts along the left side of any Gmail page.
- Click Add Contact.
- Enter: info@ifmanashville.org into the primary email address dialog box.
- Click Save.
Hotmail:
- Click the OPTIONS tab.
- Select SAFE LIST. (It's under the heading Mail Handling.)
- In the space provided, enter: info@ifmanashville.org.
- Click ADD.
- When you see the address you entered in the Safe List box, click OK.
MSN Version 9
- Open the most recent email from IFMA Nashville.
- Copy the address in the "From" line.
- Click on Settings: E-mail | Junk e-mail (it's at the bottom left of the screen, just above Calendar).
- On the E-mail settings screen, click Junk E-Mail Guard.
- Select Safe List.
- In the space provided under "Add people to the safe list", enter the address you copied from the "From" line.
- Click Add.
Older versions of MSN
- Open the most recent email from IFMA Nashville.
- Copy the address in the "From" line.
- Click on E-mail settings (it's at the bottom left of the screen, just above Calendar).
- On the E-mail settings screen, click Junk Mail.
- Select Safe List.
- Click Add an item to this list. IFMA address you copied from the "From" line into the space provided.
- Click Add.
Outlook
To add our email address to your address book:
- Right click on the email subject line.
- Choose "Add Sender to Address Book".
There is an outstanding graphical tutorial located here: Worldstart. No reason to reinvent the wheel since they did such a great job with it!
Version 2.0 and higher
- Click the Address Book button.
- Make sure the Personal Address Book is highlighted.
- Click the New Card button. This will launch a New Card window that has 3 tabs: Contact, Address & Other.
- Under the Contact tab, enter, info@ifmanashville.org. into the Email address box.
- If you selected HTML newsletters, check the box next to: Allow remote images in HTML mail.
- Click OK
White list your Personal Address Book:
- From the menu choose: TOOLS and OPTIONS.
- Click PRIVACY from the upper navigation bar.
- Click the JUNK tab.
- Check the box next to: Set your default junk mail setttings... line.
- Choose the appropriate radio button to either move the junk to the junk folder, or delete junk automatically (NOTE: Not recommended!).
- Check the box next to: Enable Junk Filter Logging.
- DO NOT check the box to mark junk mail read. That may let the spammers know you're there!
- Click Ok.

- Open your Yahoo mailbox.
- Click MAIL OPTIONS.
- Click FILTERS.
- Click ADD FILTER.
- In the top row, labeled FROM HEADER: make sure CONTAINS is selected in the pull-down menu.
- Click in the text box next to that pull-down menu, then enter the address in the "From" line: info@ifmanashville.org.
- At the bottom, where it says MOVE THE MESSAGE TO: - select INBOX from the pull-down menu.
- Click the ADD FILTER button again.
